Found at Burara Health Center in the Commune of Busoni, Kirundo Province, Annociatte Uwimana, though her child was ill, had a smile that reflected the joy she felt as she waited for the results from the lab test of her child. This is what made her happy: From the consultation to the lab test, she had paid only 800fr and was waiting for the results to be given drugs for the same 800fr she had paid. Her child had a fever, pain in the throat and belly, and couldn't eat. It was not the first time the child had the same issue.

She had been treated at another health center where her pain was alleviated but not completely healed, and she has now come to this new health center, which she believes is better. "The rates are only 800fr for a child, 700fr for those with chronic diseases, and 500fr for adults, and all services are covered regardless of their cost. Even if the total cost of operations exceeds 100,000fr, the rate remains unchanged for those with a health insurance card," stated Issa Barutwanayo, the Director of Burara Health Center. Annociatte, one of the beneficiaries of health insurance cards distributed by Restoration Burundi, is very pleased. She has four children who often fall ill, but now she doesn't struggle to get them treated.

"I have utilized this health insurance card over 6 times in the past 6 months. I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude. May God greatly bless those who provided us with this card. We pray that God allows them to renew these cards when they expire."

Currently, 5000 individuals are benefiting from Health Insurance cards provided by Restoration Burundi in partnership with Glo in Cibitoke Province, Rugombo Commune, and Kirundo Province in the communes of Busoni and Bugabira. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with local authorities, targeting beneficiaries aged 60 or older, returnees, pygmies, single mothers, and other individuals with very low income. Most of our beneficiaries earn a living by working for others, making 2000f or 3000f per day. They live day-to-day, and missing a day of work means struggling to afford food that day.
